Fire Hydrants

Fire hydrants come to life in the form of characters in New Carlisle! Each hydrant is filled with magic, discovery, and surprise! Diane Sawyer had taken a trip to Nova Scotia where she saw 3 or 4 fire hydrants downtown that were painted as clowns and came back with the idea to paint ours in New Carlisle. Barry Tennier, the Mayor at the time, hired Chad Clark to start painting the fire hydrants. Once the first one was painted, everyone wanted a specific cartoon character on the one near their house.

Fair Haven Bible Camp

FHBC 1 site

FHBC from its beginning in 1970 has made a commitment to give every boy and every girl the opportunity to experience summer camp. To maintain this policy, camper fees are kept as low as possible. They look to Christian believers to help support this ministry, as the Lord would lead them.

At FHBC they believe that the camp experience builds good social relationships among peers, while developing physical co-ordination, skills and health habits. Camp programs expand the mental awareness of their personal worth, limitations and strengths. Spiritually, their goals are to make campers aware of their need to know God in a personal way and to find His will for them, as found in the Bible.
