Word of the mayor

On behalf of all Residents, Staff and members of our Council, I wish to extend to you a very warm welcome and invitation to explore the historical beauty of New Carlisle. Located on the Bay of Chaleur of the Gaspé Peninsula, our seaside community is home to cafes, restaurants & canteens, museums, parks, bird sanctuary, art galleries and heritage homes.

We offer something for everyone. Whether it is a leisurely walk along our Oceanside boardwalk, boating or swimming in the Bay or at our beautiful lakes, hiking through the well-maintained trails, viewing the more than 70 uniquely hand-painted fire hydrants, or taking the kids to one of our municipal play parks, you are sure to enjoy your stay.

Experience our true Gaspésian hospitality at one of our Hot Summer Nights events. Held on the Green each Friday night during July and August, the event features local musicians and an opportunity to sing, dance, and meet old and new friends. Visit our Saturday Farmers Market, held in the municipal park next to the Town Hall, to pick up fresh local produce, homemade preserves and baked goods and discover the amazing products of our many talented local artisans.

If you are coming to the Gaspé Coast during the winter months, New Carlisle is a must stop. Our skidoo, cross-country ski and snowshoeing trails are some of the best on the coast. After a refreshing day out on the trails or skating on our outside rink, drop by the Optimist Chalet for something to warm you up or a wonderful home cooked meal.

If you are visiting the Gaspé Coast we hope you make New Carlisle one of your must see destinations. Be sure to drop by our Town Hall and say hello, we would love to see you.
